Can you hear them

-This Mess We're In [link] Thom Yorke w. PJ Harvey

Thom Yorke makes me feel abstract. In a good, creative sort of way, but abstract nonetheless. Like a cat. Tied to a stick.

Every once in a while I get and urge to draw someone in particular. Johnny Depp fell victim several times. As has Ewan McGregor. Several attempts at Cillian Murphy as well, but er...we don't talk about those. Anyways, I've always wanted to do Thom Yorke.

I love this song. I don't know. He sounds...more mature? Not that he's an immature person. Just. Yes. More like, yes, I can envision you with someone. Not that I think he's incapable of handling anyone, of course. But it's just a side of him (?) you don't get to hear so much when he's doing a solo or band project.

Here's the for serious link xD: [link]

This is AWESOME. I love it. It's so passionate, and you should allow people to buy as a print...and I love Radiohead and Mr. Yorke's solo stuff. anyway....great piece. :manhug:

Hee thanks =P! I've never actually done the print thing before from here (I've had several other accounts in the past). I think if I did do prints though, I'd want to do it through somewhere else. The profit for the artist from this bunch isn't so lovely last I checked. And you know...I don't want to sell myself too short.

Yorke is love. I have always loved Radiohead, ever since I figured out who they were. They're one of those bands that I heard when I was like, little little, and then I started to listen to their more popular songs and now, I practically know their discography off by heart. Love, love, love.
:iconsleepbabie:
ohhh...yeah, selling on here just gives them the profit. It's cheaper to do it yourself charge how much for the print add postage and then an amount like ten or twenty bucks...that's what my sister does...and you're right you shouldn't sell yourself short. can't wait to see what else you'll do..:poke:

Yeah, I'm always baffled when I see people selling stuff through devART. I shall investigate the printing places here, it's something I've been meaning to check out anyways  I want to put together an artbook of my notebook drawings and poety and peddle those about.
:iconsleepbabie:
that'd be awesome you should also see if there are places that show new/unknown artists. Now, I don't mean that the way it sounds...I am currently seeking the same thing. Houston is not a mecca for art lovers.

Yeah, I've been having a little poke around, but usually the only places that do that that I've noticed are like, little coffee shops. Which are fine, but they don't usually do an opening or anything which is important for the whole marketing yourself thing. I also dread the expenses/logistics of presentation. Gah. I hate frames usually. But people love frames, or at least for things to be mounted. I like things to just sprout about, but people usually just think it's lazy. But I'm like...dude, it's atmosphere. Corkboards are good though...perhaps I could utilize those...(snort). Buy a corkboard! That's a bit catchy, and then I can be as trashy, tape using, glue spreading and pin sticking as I like and technically still have it contained in one space.

Gah, yeah, it's been difficult artwise here. I mean, there are some incredible artists here, but then for the rest it's a lot of older hobbyists (which is fine) and it can be a little difficult to relate with all that age between. And then, to add to it, it's well...Edmonton. Alberta isn't exactly reknowned for their arts. They like beef. And oil. Haha; does this sound familiar to Houston?
:iconsleepbabie:
lol...I think for Houston it's just full of broke ass people who think art is a waste of time. It's more of an industrial city hard people and a strip joint on every other corner...lol..and I don't look "cool" enough to join in with the small amount of artists here. Art has a tendency to do that, alienate individuals based on looks and age. So...the rest is a sad tale...:lonely:
